OVERVIEW:
Currently a personal project in process, Spool is a simple card game which I aim to publish and market in the future, with each deck able to cater from two to five players. Each game is meant to be quick and fast, however the rules are quite dynamic so every play through should hold new surprises. The game is highly player focused with a lot of room for player created rules. In fact some blank cards will be provided with the game deck allowing players to customize to their hearts content. Spool will also have a Facebook page, where players can post the unique cards that they have come up with to inspire others like them around the world. |

DESIGN THOUGHTS AND LEARNINGS:
Simple yet Dynamic Gameplay
Integration of Customization
Simple yet Dynamic Gameplay
- From early on in the design process Spool was to be a game people could pick up easily at parties and have a blast with. At the same time I also wanted it to have an almost nonsensical kind of depth with the gameplay. To achieve this, I made sure all the instructions and abilities on the cards were simple actions that enabled players to interact with their fellow players, while at the same time combo and thread in well with the cards that they played.
Integration of Customization
- Being a passionate designer, I wanted to spread the bug and create a platform for others to test out their creative juices. Thus one of the intentions behind Spools simple but crazy nature was to motivate players to get their own hands dirty and add their personal color to the game in order to bring people together.
